Driven, as ever, by textile innovations from the Stone Island laboratory, the ninth Stone Island Shadow Project collection is an investigation into modern texture and structure. An intrinsic understanding of technology and performance renders garments that are unfussy and practical. An informed view of contemporary culture and context renders a look and feel that is urbane and progressive. 5719, the autumn/winter '012 collection, defines modernity as an innate flowstate of ease and nuance. Base materials have been selected for their natural warmth and familiarity. Reassuring and subdued, they are then carefully tuned for protection and carefree daily use. Piece dyed fabrics in the collection are precise, rich, and tactile. Garment dyed fabrics achieve signature depths of colour saturation and expression. New to Shadow this season are knitted items and engineered knit details — notably the new Stealth Jacket, a Gore-Tex® Proshell crombie whose hidden pocket array is knit 'in macchina'.
