Forty Percents Against Rights

FORTY PERCENTS AGAINST RIGHTS (FPAR) is a Japanese label founded by Tetsu Nishiyama, the designer behind WTAPS and, earlier, FPAR’s 1990s incarnation. Known for message-driven graphics and pared-back military- and work-derived cuts, the line long operated only through a handful of Tokyo stockists before opening its own online store in 2013. The name itself — a deliberately confrontational slogan — is characteristic of Nishiyama’s text-led approach to clothing.
