Lightning Archives Military Jackets (revised edition) is a reference volume that assembles hundreds of vintage military jackets—from field coats to flight and bomber styles—into a 242-page photographic index, printed in Japan. Each garment is reduced to front, back, and detail shots, annotated with brief data about model, era, and origin, turning decades of conflict and logistics into orderly rows of fabric, hardware, and serial numbers. The revised edition simply expands and updates this taxonomy, confirming that uniforms designed for war now circulate as images and commodities, stripped of purpose, filed away as another closed chapter in a series of collectible books.

Stone Island Navigation Series: Shedding Light by Liam MacRae deploys a canine unit as both subject and sensor. The sequence examines tracking protocols, movement signatures, and light scatter in terrain navigation. Objective: assess animal-assisted pursuit as a guidance vector. Visual narrative captures the moment of release—unleashing the chase to test instinctive tracking against controlled illumination parameters.
Nike Undercover Gyakusou FW11 _ Running Monks
Fall/Winter 2011 campaign imagery from Nike x Undercover Gyakusou, Jun Takahashi’s running project with Nike. Shot in Kyoto, the Running Monks film and lookbook place technical running apparel against temple architecture, shrine paths, moss, stone, and woodland.
The collection frames running as a quiet, ritualized practice rather than a purely athletic one. Slim outer layers, tights, gloves, caps, and tonal performance pieces sit within a muted autumn palette, connecting Nike running technology with Undercover’s controlled, monastic visual language.

Nike x Undercover Gyakusou SS2011 Details
Gyakusou is Nike Running's collaboration with Jun Takahashi of Undercover, named for the Japanese word for running a course in reverse. Details from the Spring/Summer 2011 jacket: a lightweight ripstop shell in white, grey and red, with a large perforated mesh panel across the back and shoulders for ventilation, bonded and taped seams, a stowable hood, and reflective Gyakusou branding at the shoulder. The vent openings are backed with mesh; the hem and cuffs are elasticated ripstop.

Putting his signature punk inspired twist to classic silhouettes- Jun Takahashi releases the L4203-3 Blouson as part of the brand's "anatomicouture" autumn/winter collection. Based on a bomber jacket the piece retains the rounded shape of the jacket along with ribbed collar, cuffs, and bottom hem. Pinstripe is utilized as the piece's majority giving it a more sophisticated aesthetic; UNDERCOVER's signature mixed material construction is also showcased in leather sleeve sections, and knitted sweater tail rear section. SENSE magazine’s seasonal “TEXT in visvim” editorial brings to our attention many of the upcoming pieces from the designer’s 2012 spring/summer “Dissertation on Introspection” collection. The popular natural indigo and Amami-Oshima mud techniques are amongst the unique dyeing methods used this season. Material-wise, Egyptian Giza and LUXSIC cotton have been chosen as the base for the corduroy and denim items, with KONBU, Belgium cowhide leather and Cordura Ballistic nylon used to create this season’s range of bags.
